The Mission Board of the First Church of God has an important role in
the outreach of the church. We are to act as an evangelism committee in getting new people in the church and making them part
of our Church Family and in getting the message of the Church of God to those outside.
The Mission Board also raises funds for missions and missionaries, helps
educate the Church about mission work, decides on missions and missionaries to support, sponsors mission trips as the interest
and need arises and invites missionaries to speak at the church.
In our local church, the Mission Board is responsible for providing Church
dinners for new people and this is usually done the first Wednesday of each month. We also provide at least two special programs
each year. In the past, we have sponsored Friends’ Day at the Church, provided leadership in celebrating the Church’s
75th Anniversary in 2003 and anticipate hosting a Mission Weekend in October. We also work with the Faith Promise Committee
to provide funds to churches throughout the United States.
The Mission Board
is answering the call to fulfill the Great Commission so that people outside of our church can hear the message, that missions
is always a priority, that missionaries are supported and that U.S. Missions’ needs are at the forefront.
