The first ever Joyful Women’s Conference was held on September 13, 2014, at the Roanoke First Church of God. Women from all over the state attended and were blessed by speakers Rev. Gertrude Goode, Rev. Michelle McKinnon-Young and Minister Geanna Walker. New Grace, a trio from Roanoke First Church of God, provided uplifting spiritual music and the audience of Joyful Women responded wholeheartedly to their singing. Rev. Norm Arrington, a Biblical Dramatist from Princeton, West Virginia, presented a monologue on Mordecai, the uncle of Esther in the Old Testament. Lunch was provided and each woman received a gift bag filled with many wonderful items.
A.W. Tozer, a pastor and author, wrote the following words: “Come among us in power and restore to us a sense of wonder, astonishment and delight.” These words captured the spirit of the conference.
